Historical Facts:
Famous American author and poet Irvin S. Cobb, was a frequent player in poker games held in the guest home.
The ladies who founded the Dogwood Trail did so in a series of meetings held here.
One of the first electric refrigerator models built by Frigidaire can be found inside this home & is still in working condition.
Located at the front of the house are Rhododendrons. Revenue agents dug these up after raiding a moonshine still in Eastern Kentucky.
This land was once referred to as Wallace Park. According to & quoting the “Local & Family History” internet site Wallace Park marked the outskirts of the Paducah city limits; it was quite literally the end of the line. For a nickel, you could ride the rail car from the foot of Broadway to its culmination at the park and then turn around and come back again.
